At KIRO, we’re always looking for ways to elevate your chiropractic experience, and our latest innovation is here to do just that. We’re excited to introduce Nervous System Scans (NSS), also known as Surface EMG scans or sEMG, exclusively for our Members. These scans are a powerful tool in assessing the health of your spine, offering insights that help tailor your treatment for optimal results.

What Are Nervous System Scans?

Nervous System Scans measure muscle tension along your spine, comparing the activity between the left and right sides. This data is crucial in understanding how well your muscles are supporting your spine and where adjustments might be needed. The scans are easy to understand, displaying results in three simple states:

Green: Indicates normal muscle activity, showing that your spine is in a balanced state.

White: Reflects weakened or fatigued muscle activity, signaling that certain areas may need attention.

Gray: Highlights high levels of spasms, pointing to areas of concern that require focused care.

Seamless Integration with the KIRO Mobile App

For our Members, tracking your spinal health has never been easier. Nervous System Scans are integrated into the new "Health" tab of the KIRO mobile app, allowing you to monitor your progress over time. These scans are included in your monthly membership, making it a convenient part of your wellness routine.

How It Works

As a KIRO Member, you’ll automatically receive your first Nervous System Scan during your next scheduled appointment. This initial scan sets the baseline for your chiropractic care. After eight treatments, we’ll conduct a second scan to assess how your spine is healing and adapting. To maintain your progress, additional scans are scheduled every 16th adjustment, ensuring your spine stays in top condition.
